EASY HALLOWEEN DIY DECOR: HANGING WITCH HATS AND CANDLES

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Witch hats

• Battery-operated candles (safer for little hands)

• Fishing wire or clear thread (for that floating effect)

• Command ceiling hooks (no damage, easy to remove!)

• Scissors

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE:

1.CHOOSE YOUR LOCATION

Involve the kids in picking spots to hang the decorations. Whether it’s the front porch, living room, or even their bedrooms, letting them choose adds to the excitement!

2. CUT THE FISHING WIRE

Measure and cut lengths of fishing wire for each hat and candle. Varying lengths will make the display more dynamic. Let the kids help with the measuring—it’s a great way to practice those math skills! Just make sure to keep them high enough that no one is hitting their head on them constantly.

3. ATTACH THE WIRE

Tape or glue one end of the fishing wire to the top of each hat and candle. Make sure it’s secure so they can hang through the season!

4. HANG COMMAND HOOKS

Stick command ceiling hooks on the ceiling where you want the hats and candles to hang. This is a great chance to teach kids about organizing and decorating—plus, no messy nails involved!

5. HANG THE HATS AND CANDLES

Loop the other end of the fishing wire over the hooks and let the hats dangle. Encourage the kids to adjust the heights and see which looks best—this is all about creativity!
